CONGRATULATIONS! You made it through the first week of 2018!
And, you’re back. So, you’re on fire to reach your goals by taking real action. I’m so happy to help you with your plans. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me!
Today is Day 8 of the 2018 ACTION Challenge.
Today’s ACTION Step is: Gather Your Resources.
What are all the things that you need in order to produce the content that you want to produce this year? Make a list, and check off the things you already have. The things you don’t have, you’ll want to prioritize finding ways to get them. Do you need a camera for shooting video? A tripod or lights? A good printer? You might have to do some research to find out exactly what you need in order to create the kind of content you want.
As you develop this list, include the prices for anything that you don’t currently have. Then, you might want to look into alternative ways to obtain access to those materials. For example, I really needed a printer this year, but buying a professional-quality color printer with all the things was just not in my budget. I found a co-working space that fit my needs for networking, getting out of my house, holding meetings and a whole bunch of other criteria, AND had the added bonus of access to a great printer! SO, I checked that need off the list. I’ll save up for my own printer in the future, but at least my immediate needs are covered. Other options could be sharing equipment with another business owner, small business rentals/finding deals on used equipment, or finding a collaboration/collective that fits your business needs.
Other things to think about while gathering your resources:
Software/Programs: Do you need any programs or apps? A new website or CMS? Write all of those things down as well.
Non-digital needs: Think carefully about your goals. Do you need to create your own art/photography? If yes, then you’ll need to start thinking about the props and backgrounds you’ll want to have on-hand. You can start to set things aside and organize them before you actually work on a project. Make a list of all the non-digital items you need to make your content a success.
Learning: Do you need to start a reading list, or to choose any online courses to take to improve your skill set? Make sure you include those things.
You’ve got this!
“Remember, you and you alone are responsible for maintaining your energy. Give up blaming, complaining and excuse making, and keep taking action in the direction of your goals – however mundane or lofty they may be.”
