Creating engaging User Journeys is a great way to inspire your team to design with your users in mind.
Starting with the personas I’ve created after gathering information on my actual users—through surveys, interviews, and maybe a user study or two—I sit down and write out a story about how the user will interact with the product I’m trying to design. How would your grandmother approach learning to use a new app? It will certainly be a different process than how your 23-year old cousin would do it.
These User Journeys were created in my Interaction Design class, where we did a semester-long project designing an app to manage a school lunch program.
“Take the time to understand your user. It will decrease your risk of creating an unfavorable experience and give you an opportunity to turn them into your greatest advocate.”
Joshua Brewer, “You are not your user.” (2010)
